my nickname was 'abang'. there were so many 'abangs' in the kampung that i had to be specifically identified. my cousins called me 'abang mak endon'. nobody called me by my real name.

i am the 7th in a family of 8. my eldest brother left the kampung when i was only 5 years old. so i was left as the only boy in the family. that was why i got the 'abang' title

'kita' was what i used when i talk with parents or my sisters. to use 'saya' or 'i' sounded a bit to formal. to use 'abang' or 'razin' macam ngada-ngada. to use 'aku' was harsh. 'you never say aku. nanti jadi hantu paku....'.

'kita' was just nice.

...kita dah basuh pinggan la!...

...mana ada kita amek...

... asyik kita aja kena buat, suruh oja la pulak...

... mak, kita nak gi umah makcom...

my auntie liked to tease me. ...'kita' pergi mana? kita dah makan?

when my 8-year-old daughter asked to type in the blog title, (she actually walked me thru the process, thanks to uncle zack) i supposed it is appropriate to put 'kita' kata which represents my childhood nickname, which also literally means we say, our say, or our words. that 'we' is razin. yup. its me.

cant put razinkata. dont intend to put jimoudekata. jimoude? well that will be a different post altogether.

thank you wawa. thank you uncle zack.

i now have my own blog.

razin mahmood.
